Registered Massage Therapy
Massage therapy consists of primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.
Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous, and circulatory systems. Physical function may be developed, maintained, and improved; and physical dysfunction and pain and the effects of stress can be relieved or prevented through the use of Massage Therapy (The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario).
Many people book a 60 minute Swedish massage, but 75 or 90 minutes gives the therapist more time to work the muscle tissue and achieve results.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE:
Pregnancy massage treatments may alleviate backache and reduce leg cramps and swelling that often accompany pregnancy.
Each pregnancy is as unique as each woman. Therefore, each pregnancy massage therapy treatment is tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient. The mom-to-be will be positioned with pillows to ensure maximum comfort during the massage.
